BUILDING ONLINE AUTHORITY AND TRUST

Search Engine Optimisation

Appearing at the top of the search results has long been the aim for businesses, and it’s easy to see why – 98% of potential customers choose a business that’s listed on page one of the search results.

Even prospects who have heard about you are crying out for you to have a functioning online presence. The number one reason for doing an online search is to find a ‘known’ company, and by taking control of your local SEO, you’re taking control of the company information that a searcher will see when looking you up online – especially important in an era of social media, review sites and a plethora of other third party sites that could potentially pose risks to your reputation if not managed correctly.

Many misconceptions abound when it comes to SEO, but by approaching it in a clear, methodical manner, it can be the cornerstone of a digital campaign.

A different approach to SEO

While there are dedicated SEO agencies – and clients will still ask if we ‘do SEO’ – we don’t actually think it’s wise to approach SEO in isolation. It can only deliver consistent results by working together with UX, CRO, social media and all the other facets in the digital mix. Fortunately, that’s exactly how we work!

And while good-quality SEO takes time, there will be some quick wins we can make right from the off to kick-start your campaign, while developing strategies for the longer-term goals.

Direct communication

Once we’ve researched your industry and competition and understood your requirements, our digital strategists will put together a bespoke plan for you – and from there you’ll work directly with them to ensure your goals are being met.

On top of that, our SEO services are delivered by qualified SEO professionals, copywriters, designers and developers.

Monthly SEO reports

Our monthly reports can be as in-depth as you need – from a brief overview of how your site’s improving through to detailed analysis that you can report to your line managers. Whatever you need, whatever your KPIs, we’ll include it in your report. And you can rest assured they’ll be clear and actionable.

Long-standing clients

You only maintain long-term clients by doing things the right way and delivering results. We’re proud to say some of our SEO clients have been with us for more than five years and are still enjoying the fruits of our labour.

On page SEO

This covers anything that can be implemented directly on your site, such as page titles, correct keyword usage and so on. Although it plays a smaller role than off-site SEO in the overall picture, it does form the foundation of every successful SEO campaign.

But it’s not just about ticking boxes for Google spiders – if it was that easy, everyone would be doing it.

We’ll make sure your pages meet a user need and provide both users and search engines with the expertise, authority and trustworthiness that are only seen on the best sites.

Off page SEO

This is where things get interesting with SEO. Building links from quality, trusted sources is far harder than rewriting text to include some keywords, and that’s why Google places more importance on which other sites think you’re worth referencing. Through careful selection of third-party sites, followed by guest blogging, digital PR, content marketing and social community management, we can ensure your off site SEO exceeds expectations.

Technical site audits

Many of the quick wins come from technical issues that may be holding your site back, such as meta data (like title page) or missing links. But technical SEO goes far beyond this, into the realms of crawls and coding. We won’t bore you with the techie details, but we will find out where the issues lie and solve them for you – and you can rest assured that our tools will find anything that can be improved, so nothing will go unsolved.

Local SEO

Local SEO has always been a huge component of a company’s inbound strategy, and the rise of mobile search has elevated it from important to vital. The search volumes involved are already massive – there are more than 4 billion smartphone users out there, and 95% of them have used their smartphone to look for local information, and 77% of those searchers will go on to contact a business they find during that search.

Google research has also shown that 59% of consumers making a local search on their smartphones visited that business the same day, while 18% made a purchase within one day – meaning their buyer intent is very real, and very immediate.

SEO is important for all sites, but for ones aimed at a more localised audience, it’s absolutely critical.

Thought for the day

Avoid anchor links where possible – people suffer from change blindness and may not realise content has changed.

Isn't SEO just about adding keywords? How does that need doing each month?

SEO is about FAR more than simply littering the page with keywords – in fact, writing keyword-heavy, unreadable content is one sure-fire way to get your site pushed down the pecking order! The reason SEO is an ongoing project is because the bulk of the benefits are found with creating good quality, user-focused content that will prompt others to link to your site – and to get users to stay longer when they visit.

I've seen an SEO plugin for WordPress. Isn't that all I need?

No. The SEO plugins you’ll have seen are simply to help you quickly and easily see where gaps in your SEO strategy lie so you can get some quick wins. They don’t, in and of themselves, help you rank better.

I copied the copy from a competitor who ranks well. Why aren't I ranking as well as them?

For a start, why are you copying anyone else? Duplicate copy will be easily spotted as such by Google, for a start, but also you don’t know whether that site is actually converting traffic – just because they rank well doesn’t mean it’s a successful site. But beyond that, on-page content is a small fraction of the ranking algorithm – you may have mentioned the keyword the same number of times as your competitor, but if they have 1000 links from high-authority sites and you have one link from your mother’s knitting blog, you’re not going to anywhere near competing with them.
